SOURCE Atomic weights of the elements: Review 2000 by John R de Laeter et al. Pure Appl. Chem. 2003 (75) 683-800 © IUPAC 2003 average natural abundances of the four stable isotopes of lead are 204Pb = 1.4%, 206Pb = 24.1%, 207Pb = 22.1%, and 208Pb = 52.4%, but the variation can be large. Russell and Farquhar (1960, 14) give examples of the ranges for each isotope abundance as follows: 204Pb = 1.044 – 1.608%, 206Pb = 21.53 – 28.39%, 207Pb = Lead and stable lead isotope ratios (206 Pb/ 207 Pb) determined in soils, ice, and sediment and peat cores are used as fingerprints of anthropogenic pollution (Gałuszka et al., 2014). Although lead was one of the earliest metals discovered and used by humans, the highest amount of Pb, causing pollution at the global scale, was emitted in the period of 1940–80 when leaded gasoline was in common use.
The analyses were made with a solid-source mass spectrometer. Comparison analyses show excellent agreement with results from other laboratories using solid-source techniques, but differences of 1 to 5% may occur for individual abundances when comparison is made with laboratories utilizing the Abundance in Earth's Crust: Discovery Year: Abundance in Humans: Electrical Conductivity: Abundance in Meteorites: Electron Affinity: Abundance in the Ocean: Electron Configuration: Abundance in the Sun: Electronegativity: Abundance in the Universe: Half Life: Atomic Mass: Heat of Fusion: Atomic Number: Heat of Vaporization: Atomic Radius Calculate the atomic of lead. isc*opes have atcnic muses and relative abundances of203.973 (1.4%), 205.974 (24.1%), 206976 (22.1%) and 207.977 amu (52.4%). carbon- 12 and carbon-13. A discussion of the causes of normal lead isotope abundances indicates that the latter could be the result of large-scale crustal homogenization processes in continental geosynclinal-orogenic belts. However, there is not enough critical evidence to identify definitely the source of normal lead ores with either crust or mantle.

The Peculiar Type Ic Supernova 1997ef: Another Hypernova
We present a new methodology for interpreting lead isotope data from archaeological copper alloy objects. It is not based on the conventional isotope ratio biplots, which were originally devised to allow the calculation of the geological age of the lead mineralization, but is derived from isotope mixing models, more often used for presenting strontium isotope data. The isotopic composition of seven specimens of ordinary lead (galena) and one specimen of monozite from north west Rumania was determined. The lead was studied as PbCl/sub 2/. It was found that galena has a normal isotopic composition and varies vary slightly. The age of the monazite was established as about 150 million years.
